Piggott School pupils fill up car boot with books to be sent around the world

By Jon Nurse
October 30, 2012

Big readers at The Piggott School filled a boot with books to send on to less fortunate children around the world.

The Wargrave school has been collecting unwanted children’s books for the Big Book Drop appeal.

The initiative is being led by Interserve in Twyford, which has chosen Literacy for Life as its charity this year.

The books will be sent to the Philippines, South Africa, India and Chile to improve and encourage children’s literacy.

Interserve Twyford has been sending HR staff to help with mock interviews for Year 11 students at the school in Twyford Road, so pupils were keen to show their gratitude and support the appeal.
