Adventurers head up Mount Snowdon to raise cash for Asia trip

By Jon Nurse
September 21, 2012

Four adventurers battled the elements to reach the summit of Mount Snowdon and raise money for an Asian adventure next year.

Matt Lambert, Ash Vince, Helen Spooner and Lucy Noad from The Emmbrook School scaled Wales’ highest mountain on August 14.

The sixth formers are fundraising for a World Challenge to Vietnam and Cambodia next year.

They took seven hours to reach the summit and complete the descent with Matt’s dad Craig.

Matt, 17, said: “I raised close to £1,000 by climbing Snowdon. People have been so generous and I want to thank everyone who sponsored me.”

The teenagers need to raise £4,500 each to book their place on the international challenge.

Matt, who works as a waiter at Nirvana Spa, is halfway to his total and also held a barbecue outside his house in Oregon Walk, Wokingham, which added £100 to his fund.
