Aspiring poet scoops award

By Laura Herbert
July 03, 2012

An aspiring poet has been awarded second place in a national poetry competition.

Harry Yates, from Finchampstead, just missed out on the top spot at the Support and Training in Prep Schools’ National Poetry Competition for his poem Insignificance.

Two other classmates from Harry’s school Yateley Manor had their poems commended.

This year’s competition judge was Gillian Clarke, National Poet for Wales and a world-renowned poet, playwright and broadcaster.
