Creepy-crawlie treat for Toad Hall leavers
June 26, 2012
Children at a Wokingham nursery got the chance to stroke snakes, cockroaches and African snails at their leaving party.
Staff from Zoolab brought along a range of creepy crawlies for little ones and their parents at Toad Hall Nursery to get up close with.
The party, at the nursery in Edneys Hill, took place on Monday, May 28, as the three and four-year-olds will be leaving at the end of the summer term to go to school.
Pre-school senior Jenny Marriott said: “The children seemed to like the animals. There were the odd one or two who didn’t want to touch them, but they quite enjoyed them coming in as it was something different.”
She added: “Some parents said it was really sad as the children will be leaving but they are still here for a couple of months.
“They begin to leave from next month in a staggered approach so we wanted to hold the party while they are all still here.”
