Sing-along-hymn-along a hit at Bearwood College

Parents and pupils danced and warbled in a ‘sing-along-hymn-along’ at Bearwood College.

The college community had been asked to vote for their favourite hymns the past few weeks, culminating in the service on Friday morning.

Bearwood’s director of music Christopher Enston said: “It was a stunning success, the singing was fantastic and it was a magnificent example of the college united.”

Donations were collected at the end of the service for the restoration of the chapel organ and raised more than £580.

This pushes the total raised past £28,000.

Around 30 parents attended, joining almost 400 pupils and staff at the school in Winnersh.

The voting revealed Jerusalem as the school’s most popular hymn.

Participants bobbed up and down in Mexican waves in Lord of the Dance and heard each house offer verses from their favourites.
