Berkshire children join RSPB nature campaign

By Becky Barnes

Children across the county have been taking steps to save nature as part of a wildlife campaign.

Since the RSPB launched the Stepping up for Nature campaign last year there have been more than three million steps taken to protect nature.

Don Fuller, RSPB south east youth officer, said: “Getting children interested in wildlife from a young age is important and we can see from their enthusiasm to get involved in the activities we offer that they really enjoy it.”

The wildlife charity wants to encourage everyone to protect nature, whether through big or small activities.

Nearly 1,000 children from 23 schools across Berkshire took part in the Big School’s Birdwatch in January and there are still more activities to enjoy.
