Nursery inspired to dig deep for hospital’s care baby unit

August 31, 2010

Bouncing babies and sponsored splashes helped a Wokingham nursery raise more than £1,500 for a special care baby unit.

Staff, parents and children at Toad Hall Nursery in Edneys Hill, Wokingham, completed a variety of challenges to raise funds for the special care baby unit at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading.

Babies bounced, parents joined in with raffles and children dressed as their favourite fairytale characters to raise as much as they could for babies requiring intensive, high dependency or special care.

Rebecca Hartley, Toad Hall Nursery manager, said: “We decided to raise money for the unit because we have had quite a lot of parents that have used the service and so they were very keen to help.  That is why we have raised so much money.”
