The Look Out takes to the road in schools project

March 19, 2010

Thousands of children will be on The Look Out for fun-filled activities coming to their classrooms.

The Look Out Discovery Centre is launching a new project called Look Out on the Road from Tuesday, March 30.

The project involves staff from the Nine Mile Ride centre visiting schools all over Bracknell Forest to give pupils a variety of workshops including sessions called Mars Mission Madness, Bridge Builder and Solar Power.

The team also has the Starlab – a mobile inflatable planetarium to teach children about stars, planets and the solar system.

The Look Out on the Road will teach children about environmental concerns and help children who struggle with maths through the Maths Detective and the Mathmagic show.

Cllr Iain McCracken, Bracknell Forest Council’s executive member for culture, said: “Our schools have always taken advantage of the Look Out and now they have the chance to offer pupils the experience of visiting the Look Out without having to leave the school grounds – how great it that?”
