Dolphin pupils enjoy walk on the wild side

February 08, 2010

Children at a Hurst preparatory school went wild when a number of two and four-legged friends paid a visit.

Year One pupils at Dolphin School welcomed rabbits, dogs, owls and a selection of other creatures to the Waltham Road school on Monday, January 25.

The visit from Hydestile Resident Animals, which provides for the long-term needs of animals unable to go back into the wild or be re-homed and is based in Surrey, coincided with the pupils work on a topic titled ‘Under the Ground’.

Those who attended the workshops also heard a talk from Graham Cornick, who works for the animal base.

He explained the different characteristics and qualities of each animal before talking about his work with them.
