Team runs for funds in memory of Lesley Vass

July 01, 2009

Staff and pupils put on their running shoes to raise cash in memory of a colleague who died from breast cancer.

Seven members of staff and two pupils from Sandhurst School took part in the Race for Life in Guildford on Saturday, June 6.

They ran in memory of Lesley Vass, a food technology technician at the comprehensive school, who died in March.

Each runner had a picture of Lesley on the back of their shirt.

Food technology teacher Laura Tudor, who took part in the race, said: “We wanted to do something to remember her.

“She was such a lovely happy person, and was taken from her family and us too soon”.
