Pete - I think the tone of your first message said it all - some people are committed to only seeing the negatives in things, and I would suggest you were one of them. Despite what you said, I would imagine an awful lot of hard work went into organising the May Fayre, and I'm sure the vast majority of people enjoyed the day.

"P Pan" (if that is your real name) - your ability to draw conclusions about the "happiness" of someone's life on the basis of a sarcastically-written paragraph is phenomenal. Either you have a remarkable talent, the likes of which the world has never seen, or you know a lot less than you think you do.

Why not hold it in June - that should be drier.

Pete, you clearly have a very unhappy life and I feel sorry for you. My experience of the May was one of pleasure and enjoyment at such a bustling and successful community event. I'm sure you are now planning to join the Lions and give them all your amazing suggestions as to how you could make the fayre so much better!?

   Translation:

"For the first time in recent memory, the Wokingham May Fayre was not buried under torrential rain. Grass was still visible on Elms Field at the end of the day. People were heard saying things like 'that was unexpectedly adequate' and 'No, for the umpteenth time, I don't want to buy a ticket for your tombola.'"

Pie and pint club for elderly people

A club has been launched in Wokingham to give elderly people a social outlet by having a meal and a pint at a pub. Do you think Wokingham as a small market town needs that?
