Earley crash victim named as Neil Bird

A pedestrian killed in a collision in Earley on Saturday has been identified as Woodley man Neil Bird.

The 43-year-old died from head injuries sustained in the incident in Wokingham Road at around 5am on Saturday.

Mr Bird, of Highgate Road, was struck by a black Toyota Prius. Police are investigating but have not made any arrests. If you have any information about the incident you can contact Sergeant James Upton of the road death investigation unit on 101 or the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

   Neil was my cousin he was a wonderful man fun to be around and will be sadly missed by all his family and friends RIP Neil i will never forget you love you always your cousin Louise

   RIP Neil. You were we'll known around Woodley and I believe you ran a market stall in Broad Street. Terrible tradegy my thoughts are with your family at this sad time.
