Can you give guinea pigs a home?
March 18, 2010
This cute bunch are looking for new homes after they were found dumped in a skip in Bracknell – but be warned, they do not like each other’s company.
The four male guinea pigs were handed in to Whiteknights Animal Rescue in Whitley Wood, Reading, two weeks ago after they were found in a cardboard box in the skip.
The centre has not revealed where in Bracknell the four were found but is looking to re-home the animals they have called Pinky, Perky, Chalky White and Squirt.
However, guinea pig fosterer Karen Sutton said it was not a good idea for anyone to take all of the feisty foursome.
She said: “They were found in a skip in Bracknell and had obviously been there a long time because they had started to eat the cardboard.
“There are three babies and an adult who appears to rule the roost as he has been fighting with them and they’ve been attacking each other.
“I think that’s probably why they were dumped, they have bitten chunks out of each other.
“They don’t really get on.
“It’s not a great idea to take on four male guinea pigs as they will quarrel.
