Pet Finder: Special care for little Elsa

By Laura Herbert
December 12, 2008

Sweet lady Elsa came to the centre as a stray. Although her exact age is not known, she is a young tortoiseshell with white fur.

When she arrived at the centre it was discovered she is diabetic and will need injections every morning and evening. The centre will cover the costs of insulin and regular vet check ups.

Nervous Coco is a young lady of about 18 months with short black and white fur.

She would best suit a quiet home without young children because of her nervousness, although she is improving all the time.

Lovely lady Mavis is an 11-year-old who is often overlooked because of her age.

She is a friendly little sweetheart who is looking for a nice warm home to retire in.

Bobbie is a young female black cat who came to the centre as a nervous stray.

Her foster mum has spent a lot of time with her and had improved greatly – she now even enjoys a fuss and a tickle.

To adopt any of these cats, call Reading and District Cats Protection on (0118) 940 3005 or visit www.readinganddistrictcats.org.

Help with neutering payments

Thames Valley Animal Welfare (TVAW) operates a low-cost neutering scheme.

Anyone who can prove they receive a pension or income support is eligible for the scheme.

Neutering costs £15 for a female and £10 for a male cat and TVAW will pay the rest. For details call (0118) 947 9963.
