Corporate Social Responsibility Ecological demands for a greener future can be difficult to adhere to in a commercial world. This award is open to PAs who have made demonstrable changes to the way in which their company operates. It may be as simple as recycling all paper and card used in the offices to more complex initiatives that are helping the company to reduce their carbon footprint.

Community Champion This award is open to PAs who have gone the extra mile for a charity or the community. This category recognises those PAs who have rallied colleagues and co-workers to help raise funds for local charities, assist with community projects or who have involved their company in a scheme that has benefited a good cause. The winner in this category will have managed to combine their charity/community work with the demands of their job.

Event Co-ordinator The pace of change in today’s company is fast: the need to show creativity and a return on investment has never been greater – especially for those organising events. This category will award the PA who has most creatively used the budget for an event. Be it a discreet top level meeting or a large upscale company day; judges will be looking for evidence of what the objectives were and how they were achieved through creative marketing techniques.

Innovator of the Year Those who work to the ethos that ‘we’ve always done it like this’ need not apply for this category! This category allows those with an entrepreneurial spirit to really shine through. Judges are looking for innovations that have brought about an effective change in working practices at their organisation. This category is open to those who are happy to challenge norms, from organising an on-site crèche facility to job swaps with the board.

Overall PA of the Year Judges will award this prize to the overall winner from one of the key categories.

The Reading Evening Post, in conjunction with Berkshire’s foremost business and conference hotel, Crowne Plaza Reading, is launching the search for Reading’s PA of the Year. The award is set to recognise PAs working in both large and small organisations and will reward commitment, enthusiasm and dedication to the role, their organisation and the local community.

Applications are invited to find Reading’s best PAs under the categories: Corporate Social Responsibility, Community Champion, Event Organiser, and Innovator of the Year. Reading’s overall PA of the Year will be ‘crowned’ from among the category winners.

Each category winner is set to receive a weekend away in any UK Crowne Plaza Hotel, along with a hand-engraved crystal trophy. The overall PA of the Year will win a weeklong trip to the fabulous Crowne Plaza Sorrento, Italy, with business class flights courtesy of British Airways.

The Reading PA of the Year will be announced at a gala dinner and awards ceremony on the evening of 19th April 2007. Hosted by the Reading Evening Post and Crowne Plaza Reading, the event will bring together many Reading businesses for a night of celebration.
