Are you eligible for free loft and cavity wall insulation?By Victoria Smith

Bracknell Forest homeowners are being urged to take advantage of free loft and cavity wall insulation.
The Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT) requires all large energy suppliers to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from homes by promoting and subsidising the uptake of low carbon measures by homeowners.
The six big energy companies are now carrying the full cost of loft and cavity wall insulation for all homeowners and people living in privately rented properties.
Colin Griffin, Bracknell Forest Council’s team manager for climate change, said: “This is a great opportunity for all homeowners and tenants to make sure their wall cavities are filled and their loft insulation is topped up to modern standards, free of charge.”
Councillor Dorothy Hayes, executive member for environment added: “These measures can save energy and improve thermal comfort. Insulation companies offering CERT installations will carry out a free loft and cavity wall insulation survey and advise residents on practicalities such as access requirements.”
CERT will be replaced by the Green Deal at the end of December.
