Flower festival fab for heroes
July 16, 2010
A flower festival has helped to raise more than £4,500 for soldiers charity Help for Heroes.
The Crowthorne Carnival Flower Festival took place on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
The event, featuring arrangements by individuals and organisations from all over the community, took place in St John’s Church in Waterloo Road. It also raised £950 toward the fund to repair the church’s roof.
Flower festival chairman Carol Cain said: “We had over 2,000 people through the doors, the local schools came on Monday. It was nice to have a young officer from the army come in and he presented a hymn at the church service.”
