Your chance to enter Miss Reading contest

April 22, 2010

The competition is hotting to be crowned the new Miss Reading.

But be quick because the final audition is this Sunday at Grosvenor Casino in Queens Road.

The audition will see local lookers snapped by a professional photographer and then quizzed by an expert judging panel about their ambitions and the charity work they do.

Lucky finalists will then sashay down the catwalk in the grand final at Trunkwell Mansion House in Beech Hill on May 23 – with the winner going onto compete against the nation’s top talent in Miss England.

Organiser Laney Eldridge, who runs Memory Lane Events, said she is looking for would-be models who will do Reading proud.

“They must be confident and comfortable with who they are, and proud to be from Reading or studying in Reading,” she said.

“But it’s not just about size 8s with long blond hair. We are looking for someone who is pretty and gorgeous in personality and looks - and capable of going on to become Miss England.”

Auditions take place from 10am to 3.30pm.

Entrants must be aged 17-24, not married or had a child. Anyone aged 17 must audition before midday.

They should wear a white vest top and make-up. The audition fee is £15.

Combine this with the legalisation of prostitution (that the posters of GetReading want) = 2 birds, 1 stone...well potentially, loads of birds...not sure what to do with the stones tho.

I fit all the requirements but with a discrimating thing like that being published, I'm extremely put off and somewhat offended! Plus the £15... well... don't get me started.

You shouldn't have to pay for entering... what a big con! I could set up my own contest for free without any specific requirements! Now to choose a contest where it's not about people... how about, something about Reading itself. I'll get my thinking cap on.

Why?

Is it just so perverted judges can try and get their end away with them!?
