Makeover magic for selfless volunteer Shirley

Shirley Poulton is the deserving winner of a makeover competition sponsored by Bracknell Regeneration Partnership and Bracknell Forest Standard after receiving nearly half the votes in our online poll.
Shirley received 48 per cent of the votes in the poll on getbracknell.co.uk, after she was nominated by her husband Brian, who decided to nominate Shirley, who is a volunteer at Thames Hospicecare, because she gives so much time to others she never has any time to herself.
She finished ahead of Thelma French from Warfield, an ME sufferer who was nominated by her friend Rose Chanel for her work helping others.
She said: “I’m really pleased to win but I would think Thelma would deserve to win more than me as she is poorly. I am really looking forward to the makeover.”
Shirley will receive a makeover from skincare experts Clarins, which is based in Bentalls, and Dave Alan Unisex Hair Salon in Broadway will do her hair.
After the makeover, Sonrisa photography in Broadway will take her photo. Her new look will be unveiled at midday on Saturday.
