The Bull at Barkham is Pub of Year runner-up

July 16, 2010

A Barkham pub continues to be top of the froths after it was recognised for the quality of its beer.

The Bull at Barkham in Barkham Road has been named runner-up in the 2010 Berkshire South East Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) Pub of the Year competition.

The award follows up the pub’s triumph in the same competition in 2007, where it was named the region’s Pub of the Year.

Nick Boley, chairman of the CAMRA south east branch – who is pictured handing over the award to landlords Adrian and Susie Brunswick – said: “This is a traditional country pub which offers good food, good beer and good cheer.”

The honour of being named pub of the year was given to The Jack O’ Newbury in Terrace Road North in the nearby village of Binfield.
