Discount pints for CAMRA members

March 19, 2010

A Hurst pub has become the first in Wokingham to offer a discount scheme to real ale fans.

The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) is celebrating the news the Wheelwright Arms in Davis Way has signed up to the group’s new initiative to drive trade to community pubs.

The pub is the first in the Berkshire south east region to take up the national discount scheme for CAMRA members.

The pub, which is run by Kevin Morley and Helen Beighton, is offering 10 per cent off all Wadworth cask ales to card-carrying CAMRA members.

I have drunk in the Broad Street Tavern for many years and for the last 5 months have received a 10% discount on their Wadworths Ales for being a menber of the Cask Ale club not CAMRA. Well done BST for being the first pub in the South East offering a discount on real ales, but well done Wheelwrights for being the second. Lovers of proper beer should not be penalised by higher prices caused by lager louts anti social behaviour
