Shoppers chase cheaper cuts of meat

December 02, 2009

Ox cheeks were on the menu in many British households last week, according to Bracknell- based retailer Waitrose.

The store chain ran a promotion of ‘Forgotten Cuts’ of meat, offering shoppers ox cheeks, pork hocks and lamb shanks, of which ox cheeks were the most popular.

Christmas crackers also sold well, with sales up 32 per cent on the same week last year.
