A trip round the world of wine

June 17, 2009

The Old Manor pub in Bracknell is offering some tasty tipples during a 19-day wine festival.

International wine maker of the year Matt Thomas has picked six special wines for the town centre pub in Grenville Place.

The event is part of Wetherspoon’s nationwide wine festival, which started last week.

Pub manager Peter Gordon said: “The six new wines have been sourced for the pub from one of the world’s leading winemakers who has crafted the wines himself.

“They have not previously been served at the Old Manor and I am confident customers will enjoy the opportunity to sample them.

“Our range of festival wines will be on a par with those served in restaurants and hotels, however they will be sold at a more affordable price.”

A further 15 wines will be on sale at the pub and all will cost £2.60 for a 175ml glass, £3.45 for 250mls or £8.69 for a bottle.

The festival ends on Sunday, June 28.
