This must be one of the best menus Mya Lacarte’s produced, packed full of local ingredients and, because of the short menu, full of delightful surprises.

We had a Mya nibble of vegetable crisps and a chunky, tomato and coriander-rich salsa with our aperitif before choosing – and I’m quoting the exact menu description for you – Cornish Scallop (Cucumber. Radish. Purple Sprouting. Raspberry vinegar.) and a Cashel Blue Soufflé (Spring vegetables.) both at £6.95.
