Tesco distribution centre brings 1,000 jobs to Reading in May
By David MillwardFebruary 26, 2013
Supermarket giant Tesco has confirmed it will be opening its new distribution centre in South Reading in May.
The 900,000 sq ft grocery warehouse in Imperial Way will create 1,150 jobs with 85 of those being ring-fenced for local people who are long-term unemployed.
There will be opportunities for drivers, mechanics, warehouse workers, maintenance staff and in management.
A statement issued by the company's media relations manager Lizzie Roberts said: "This is a significant investment in the local economy and will create hundreds of jobs for local people, including some specifically for the long term unemployed."
Tesco says customers will also benefit from improved availability of products in its stores in the Reading area.

It looks definitely that it's going to be the Maximus or A4E gravy train.
What Tesco are doing is deeply exploitative.

There wasn't a moment of clarity with Strange Man's verbiage. I was unable to understand what he meant by "i work for tesco from 2004 on wards at both reading extras", but I have managed to decipher it as 'I work for tesco from 2004 onwards at both reading extras".
What I wish to know is whether he still works at Tesco, or whether he has finished his employ. If it were Tesco Extra, he wouldn't be able to see what happens in the larger stores, and the placements by the Work Programme.

Your second paragraph states "I can see that you are trying to discredit them further".
To "discredit" means "to harm the good reputation of", or "to refuse to believe". It stems from the Latin "credere" to "believe, or to trust".
Now: bearing in mind Emma Harrison, the Tsarina of A4E, has made millions from A4E, and has manipulated the figures on how many have been placed in A4E, then it would cause me to think that Emma Harrison, herself, has "discredited' her own company.
The figures for Maximus, the other work programme provider, and how many they have helped into work, show that only 2% have found long-term employment in Britain.
I, ergo, haven't "discredited' the work programme, as they have done a fine job on their own of doing so.
I would add that Sue Ryder "Charity shops" , and not the care homes, were the businesses that were using the back to work schemes. Boycotting the workfare, in this instance, was the right step to take, as the care homes were not, in any way, shape, or form, affected.
I would also add that Iain Duncan Smith has also discredited the work programme, and he has done so by throwing his toys out of the pram after Cait Reilly's victory this month. Such ill-tempered behaviour highlight a man who knows his days to be numbered.

I can see that you are trying to discredit them further and Im sure people like you are having some success as I just read that Sue Ryder has now dropped out of back-to-work schemes due to online lobbying, so well done.

85 happens after Maximus / A4E and Tesco have mutually engaged in Ugandan discussions with the Work Programme people like Amethyst.
BTW: Ugandan Discussions, or Ugandan affairs is a Private Eye term, and, possibly, not in the Urban Dictionary.
@Amethyst: I really think you should consider how much the Work Programme will benefit from you, as part of a mark-up. I'd consider, closely, and re-read what you have signed with A4E. A4E have been known, just google them, to have made horrendous blunders, and to have corralled people into working for nothing. Again, I ask you to check out www.boycottworkfare.org. I'm not discouraging you, as your intentions are thoroughly commendable, Amethyst, but, for your own sake, take the time to consider what you are letting your self in for with the Work Programme. Please read Shiv Malik in The Guardian, Amethyst, and please also research Emma Harrison, the former head of A4E, and draw your conclusions from these points of reference and research.
