New scheme to help young unemployed
February 23, 2012
A new scheme has been launched to give young unemployed people the skills they need to get a job. The Berkshire Young People’s Project is open to 16- to 24-year-olds who are not in employment, education or training.
They will be assessed individually and given one-to-one coaching through personal and social development, and preparation for NVQ training.
Depending on their needs, they will be offered work placements or vocational training, or help with job searching, CV writing or maths and English.
The project is being run by Berkshire Scout Enterprises as part of a consortium of providers and is funded by the Government’s Skills Agency programmes.
