Hexagon panto searching for young stars
July 04, 2012
The search is on for panto babes to star in a magical tale this Christmas.
The Hexagon is calling for youngsters with star quality to audition for this year’s pantomime, Beauty and the Beast.
Children between the ages of eight and 15 are invited to try out for a chance to join CBeebies favourite Justin Fletcher on stage in December.
“Auditioning youngsters for the panto is always a lot of fun, but really tough too as we see so much talent,” says show producer Steve Boden, from Imagine Theatre.
“We are looking for kids that are great dancers, confident and also have that extra little bit of sparkle. The standard was very high last year so I can’t wait to see what Reading youngsters have in store for us this year.”
Children cast as babes will also be sharing the stage with Hexagon favourite Jolyon Dixon, who will be playing Dame Dorothy Do-It, and ’Allo ’Allo star Vicki Michelle.
The auditions will be held at Reading Town Hall in Blagrave Street on Sunday at 9.30am for a 10am start. Children auditioning are advised to wear comfortable shoes and clothes to dance in. For more information visit www.imaginetheatre.co.uk
