Wokingham Theatre staged a special performance of Katherine Howard in aid of Berkshire Give a Child a Chance.

Mayor of Wokingham borough Councillor Dianne King hosted the evening which raised money for her chosen charity, run by Berkshire Community Foundation.

All money raised from the event will benefit Wokingham children.

The charity performance of William Nicholson’s production took place at Wokingham Theatre in Twyford Road on Wednesday, April 25.

The play opens on the wedding night of Henry VIII and his fourth wife Anne of Cleves and ends with the execution of his fifth wife Katherine Howard.

Cllr King said: “I am so pleased Wokingham Theatre has offered to support my charity Give a Child a Chance with this special performance of Katherine Howard.”
