Bracknell’s Matilda Kerry Ingram made history last night when she scooped Best Actress in a Musical at the Olivier Awards.
The 12-year-old from Warfield was one of the four young actress who play Matilda in the West End musical to receive the award.
The girls, aged between 10 and 12 years old who share the role at the Cambridge theatre, are the youngest performers ever to take home an Olivier Award.
The Royal Shakespeare Company musical, based on Roald Dahl’s classic tale, was the biggest winner at last night’s awards ceremony at the Royal Opera House, scooping seven gongs.
Kerry, who has now stood down from the musical, reprised her role in the West End after the original run at the RSC’s home in Stratford-upon-Avon.
