Award joy for young dancers

Rising stars from Studio One School of Dance are all smiles following their exceptional achievements at a recent competition.
Twenty-two pupils from the school’s Tilehurst and Southcote branches emerged as section winners at the Summer Medal Test, which was held at the Burghfield Community Sports Association Club, Burghfield, on Sunday, June 6.
They are Maddie Jones, Emily Coutts, Shannon Aspell, Jane Pipkin, Nico D’Souza, Angela Kanu, Lily Reddin, Emma Greenough, Francesca D’Souza, Daisy Yates, Rachel Fowkes, Enrique D’Souza, Craig LeSaux, Bethany Grist, Victoria Shearer, Alys Shearer, Lauren Grist, Jenna Lainsbury-Ford, Ruby Reddin, Susannah Francis, Elizabeth Chatfield and Jamie Stansfield.
Principal Valerie Ford said: “I was so pleased with the overall standard achieved.
"All the pupils learn a different dance every six months; this covers all aspects of dance including ballet, modern and jazz, tap and acrobatics, and we also have drama and singing classes for these pupils.”
