One of the most celebrated plays of the 1970s will be brought to life later this month.
Mike Leigh’s dark comedy Abigail's Party is the latest production from the Shinfield Players and will be performed at the Whitley Wood Lane theatre from November 18-21.
Sam Rogers plays flirty hostess Beverley and Chris Pett is her hen-pecked husband Lawrence.
They’re waiting for their neighbours Tony, Angela and Susan to arrive at the cocktail party from hell.

On Sunday, you’re invited to a free recital at a church in Bray.
Pianist Ivana Gavric will be performing works by Schubert, Janacek and Rachmaninov, ahead of her Wigmore Hall debut next year.
The performance takes place at St Michael’s Church, next to The Fat Duck restaurant.

On Saturday, the Concert Hall welcomes Reading Community Gospel Choir for a special evening of music.

The Urban Orchestra project, a partnership between Readipop, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Berkshire Maestros, Reading Borough Council and Youth Music, has created an original piece and it receives its premiere at 7.30pm.
