Crowthorne man Roger Long produces his 16th book
Author Roger Long exposes county's curious tales
March 02, 2010
An author has celebrated all that is weird, wonderful and even spooky about a county by writing a book.
Crowthorne writer and historian Roger Long, 65, has written Curious Buckinghamshire, a compilation of little known tales about the neighbouring county.
Roger, who lives in Napier Close, said: “I’ve inflicted another book on the nation – this is number 16 now.
“I’ve tried to collect the little known stories, although you can’t ignore the well known ones, by travelling from place to place and pub to pub – that’s the hardest part of my job – picking up stories I come across.
“It’s all about things like witchcraft, hangings, poltergeists, underground caves, myths legends and folklore.”
Roger’s book, which costs £12.99, is available from all local bookshops.
