Pretty impressive

June 22, 2001

The Guildford Festival, the traditional warm-up to Reading for many local music fans, has secured an impressive bill of headliners,

Catatonia, Pulp and James will all headline the three-day festival from August 3-5, just three weeks ahead of the Reading event.

Guildford, which drew daily crowds of 14,000 last year, is celebrating its 10th year - and the line-up is arguably better than ever.

In addition to the Main Stage, Guildford boasts the Tropical Dance Tent, The Acoustic Stage and the Unsung Heroes Stage.

Catatonia's appearance is an impressive pull for the venue.

The band return to the live scene this summer with seven gigs across the UK in addition to Guildford.

They have been away from live action since the NetAid concert at Wembley Stadium in October 1999.
