Walter Infant School pupils among 900 performers at Woodley event

Children from Walter Infant School were among 900 performers who took to the stage on the opening weekend of the Woodley Festival of Music and Arts.

The choir from the school in Murray Road, was one of 31 groups performing at Emmbrook School, in Emmbrook Road, on Saturday, drawing in a crowd of 2,000 people.

Instrumental performances took place at The Oakwood Centre, in Headley Road, Woodley, on Sunday, including the family ensemble class when different generations of families were invited to perform together.

This weekend, the festival’s verse, prose and piano performances will be held at The Oakwood Centre.

Tickets are £2 for adults and free for children, and are available on the door.

The best performances of the festival will be reprised at two finale concerts on Sunday, March 24.
