Wokingham Town Hall Concert Season launches later this month.

The third season kicks off with a performance from instrumentalist Charles Medlam on Wednesday, September 26, at 8pm. Richard Smith, founder and artistic director, said: “The line-up we have for this series of concerts is absolutely astounding.

“It’s such an honour to have Charles starting the season.

“Later in the year we’ve got the director of Florilegium, Ashley Solomon, the lutenist of the Kings Consort Lynda Sayce, soprano Elizabeth Dobbin and many more fantastic musicians.” Mr Smith added that the concert season, which runs until June next year, is unique to the area.

“I can’t think of a series like it anywhere outside of London,” he said.

“The performers love the hall, and the warm reception they always get from the audience.”

Concerts are held on the last Wednesday of the month apart from December and January.

Each evening of music lasts for around an hour. Tickets cost £12.50 and are available from Wokingham Library or at www.wokinghamconcerts.co.uk.

Alternatively, tickets can be bought on the door.
