Music at Reading Minster
June 21, 2012
A stunning grade one listed building will play host to its first arts festival next week.
Jazz music will be pouring out of Reading Minster, in Chain Street, when it opens its doors to dozens of musicians from Friday, June 29, to Sunday, July 1.
The beautiful church, which is thought to date back nearly a thousand years, will host a selection of musical groups and individuals, including the Juliet Kelly Jazz Trio and The Boy Choristers of Reading Minster.
Over the weekend, families will be able to stop by to enjoy musical workshops and to find out more about the ancient church.
Reading Minster has an extensive history, having survived attacks during the Civil War and both World Wars, as well as undergoing restorations in the 16th, 19th and 20th Centuries.
The Reading Minster Festival will give church-goers and music fans the opportunity to experience one of Reading’s most celebrated buildings alongside a captivating musical backdrop.
