Guitarists and music fans will be flocking to South Hill Park this summer when the Bracknell arts centre hosts its first guitar festival.
Spread across a three-day weekend in June, the festival will be a celebration of one of the most popular instruments in the world.
Festival-goers will be treated to performances from guest musicians as well as being able to get interactive with workshops, demonstrations and a guitar shop.
There will also be an acoustic stage and an opportunity to jam with other musicians.
One of the artists who will perform is blues guitarist Michael Messer.
Set to play at the Wilde Theatre on Friday, June 1, Michael is a virtuoso slide guitarist who will give a guided tour through the greatest blues tunes of the last century.
His added turntables also give a new twist on some of the classics.
Saturday night’s entertainment will be provided by award-winning solo jazz guitarist Martin Taylor.
His shows are a combination of flair and technical skill which are off-set by his emotion and humour.
On the Sunday night there will be a performance from Johnny Dickinson and his wildly eclectic band Hillbillies from Outer Space.
The band collect Johnny’s own life influences of folk, slide guitar, American blues, and rock and are sure to provide a unique experience.
During the festival there will be workshops tucked around the mansion, with classes to suit all styles and abilities.
In the guitar shop, visitors will be able to try out a range of guitars as well as picking up tips from experts from Broadway Music and Thinkmusic.com.
