N-Dubz hip-hop at The Hexagon

April 14, 2010

Fans felt like they were ‘Number 1’ when N-Dubz played a sold-out gig in Reading on Monday.

The London-based hip-hop band have had a string of hits including collaborations with Tinchy Stryder  and Mr Hudson.

Their gig at The Hexagon was part of the band’s Against All Odds 17-show tour.

Band mates Dappy, Fazer and Tulisa opted for a military-themed performance as they entertained with hits including Playing With Fire and Number 1.

Ben Fisher, spokesman for The Hexagon, said of the Mobo Award winners: “The Hexagon was completely full and the kids seemed to love it.

“The tickets went well and they sold out about two months ago and because they are one of the ‘in’ bands at the moment tickets went quite quickly.”

He added: “The staff working on Monday night had a good time as well.”

@Brad from-Birch Hill SO SORRY! no need to be rude about it! I must of read it fast. All i have to say, is that i'm really close to n dubz, as i am a relative to one of them- but i am biased, but n dubz, have to be the momst hardworking young people, i have ever seen! N dubz represent Engand, and they do a great job. and for the haters out there, keep on hating, because it makes them and me all stronger, so we have to thank all the people that support and hate us! :)

even though i am very close to n dubz. not just because of their songs. i KNOW that they work very hard for this. they have bee working for 8 years! and now they have something to show for it. yes, dappy doesn't talk how we talk, but that's the way they were brought up. and YES dappy did get an A* in English GCSE. so it shows he is clever. and even though BRAD thinks their rubbish, they ovbs arent as they keep getting in the no.10 charts, and all there tickets have sold out for their tour. so they're doing something right. i just HATE it when people are talking badly of young people when they do something wrong, but now hear are 3 people that are doing right, and aren't on the street doing vile things, they're working hard; they also do a lot of things to keep kids off the streets and keep them entertained. so if anyone wants to critize them, i would say shut up, and have a long hard think about what ive just said, because even though on the streets is still bad, people like n dubz, wiley, chipmunk, schorcher.... are all making a change for kids that are bored.

Sure Brad - my initial reaction was to the comment "but u should know that seen (sic) as I work with ya!" and the horrible use of text speak (one of my personal hates).

However, your further comments seemed well constructed and articulate. Perhaps I was a little harsh. My apologies.

Should've saved your money, kids, & gone to see The Alarm @ Sub89 on Tuesday instead. Can't imagine Diaper & his mob will still be touring 30yrs from now with this sham of an act.

I was trying to be polite first time around. You are ignorant and should not judge people that you do not really know.

I was being sincere about Dappy's literary skills, he is really a talented young guy that scored an A* in English.

oh my, I just saw the Buzzcocks scenes on youtube and it is sooooo cringy, I feel really embarrassed for him.

Having said that everyone is entitled to listen to whatever music they please, although I wouldn't class their music as hip-hop more teeny bopp
Just an opinion

Brad - although i dont agree with your comments or taste of music, i do think you structured your arguement coherently. Blue Doodles - i'd also like to understand your thoughts on this as i think its a bold statement to make without backing it up.

Just for the record, this Dappy sounds like scum and i would have liked to read a story about one of the stage props landing on him!
