X clusive night with Danyl and his 'fan-yls'

‘Fan-yls’ gathered to meet X Factor sensation Danyl Johnson as he revealed hot gossip during an intimate gig.

The former dance teacher shared his thoughts on his media coverage during the talent contest, what life was like in the X Factor house and his plans after the X Factor tour during a special event at The Forbury hotel in the town centre on Sunday.

Fans – some have even nicknamed themselves ‘fan-yls’ – got to quiz the singer on anything they wanted during a question and answer session.

When asked what he would do differently if he went on the X Factor again, Danyl answered: “I would probably suck up to Cheryl [and] I would say, ‘Do I have to sing girls’ songs?’”

He went on to talk about song choices on the show and revealed, “we [contestants] have no choice at all”.

He added: “George Michael Week was going to be American week.

“Simon wanted me to sing Praying for Time but I wanted to sing Careless Whisper, so I recorded both so he could listen to them.”

Asked whether his mentor lived up to his ‘Mr Nasty’ nickname, he said: “We spoke to Simon’s staff at his house in LA [during boot camp] and they said he was the nicest person to work for.”

Since the show Danyl, from Arborfield, keeps in touch with all of the contestants and even admitted he had a crush on Welsh singer Lucy and revealed pal Olly Murs labelled all food and shelves in the house according to which singing category people were in. One fan asked if Danyl thought the media had ruined his chances of winning the show.

“I think the media were too nice at the beginning,” he said. “Anyone they make a front runner will go out. Joe was the underdog and came through later. Because I was so well known at the beginning it was easier to bad mouth me than it was other people in the show.

“At the beginning they were over-hyping me so it kind of balanced out.”

After the X Factor tour, which starts later this month and ends in April, Danyl said he and some of his pals from the show will be taking a much-needed holiday.

“I want to go somewhere nice in the sun,” he said. “After that I will be concentrating on my music.”

Afterwards fans were treated to a three-course meal and an intimate acoustic gig where Danyl sang some of his favourite songs.

Me and danyl have something in common then...nothing new and nothing fresh.

At 'The Truth' fair enough we all like different people. I can see plenty of starlike quality in Dan, he's a man that's chasing his dream whilst you are here sniping! You call it fame hungry? Tomato, tomayto! He can sing, writes his own music and has charisma aplenty. What is your talent? Show us an example of it here and we can judge you and write nasty things about you! Nah, don't like the sound of that?? Or is it that you don't have a discernable talent?

You cannot like somebody, but to spew the hate that you have is something else. I do say live your dreams don't watch what Danyl is doing or saying if you can't stand him so much! Its beginning to look a lot like an unhealthy obsession!

Richard Richard, as it's been pointed out, most songs are done and redone by various artists so the whole of the music industry you could say is "kareoke". If you have nothing fresh and a new to add to this discussion, just go away quietly and speak no more of it.

The Truth - thats fair enough, we can't all like the same person or everything would be pretty boring. What annoys me is attention-seeking hatred and personal attacks on people. However, I agree, this "debate" is dead.

I have never denied that Danyl isnt living his dreams or will not be successful; of course he has been & will continue to be, he is Fame hungry & has already achieved status; all I have questioned is what the attraction is as I cant see it, and in all honesty there has not been any persuader on here. Fair enough. Live my dreams? What do you know? Have you got colleagues, partners, friends or associates that you dont form & share opinions about?

:) You are beyond approach, you have no basis other than cheap insults, you attempt to justify your debate by going full circle & going of the tangent. You have sat here over due course & studied the debates & input on other subjects by the Writers & taken notes hence the 3rd chat. You have plenty of handbags? Strange that for a man.. Ther Truth & Richard Richard, the REAL TRUTH is that Danyl's out there living his dreams singing to millions, last check on You tube he had 11.6 million hits on his first audition. Like it or not people do like him and he won't be going anywhere any time soon other than to promote himself in other far flung places! What will you two be doing? Sitting at your laptops writing sniping comments about him, it's a sad life to have. Go out there and fulfil your dreams! Don't hate congratulate!

Dan will be bigger than both of would probably wish or want for him. I for one will be cheering him on cause it takes a real man to still be standing after the onslaught of hatred that people like you espouse on a daily basis.

The Truth as you know Dan and his family, I have to say that you should hang your head in shame. Whatever bitterness you hold towards Dan, you should really let it go as you now I assume in your late 20 like Dan. MOVE ON it's not healthy seriously.
