Oakford WKTSC Film Festival

The Who Killed The Spring Chicken Weekender, kicks off the sunny season with two days full of Music, Film & Art. Headlining the weekend is the legend that is DJ DEREK!

The Bristol based DJ whose blend of 60's Rocksteady, Reggae, Ska, Dancehall and Soul music has made him an icon for many in the industry, including a host of Jamaican producers and Massive Attack.

A weekend special, to kick off springtime, also see's hot new female artist Zarif, whose work with the Nextmen on critically acclaimed single "Something Got You", has catapulted her quirky retor-tinged soul into the masses.

 Saturday will see a new twist to the Reading scene, with The Afternoon teapot Party. The Teapot Party will host Reading's biggest electric acts, playing in a totally unplugged setting...expect mandolins & washboards, and bands swilling beer from teapots, and make sure not to miss out on an unplugged electronica from Matt Tanner.

Evening brings an Electronica/ Hip Hop/ Pop/ Soul twist, and performing with Zarif see's hot act Rochelle, and the quirky Goldie Looking Chain-esque Johnny Rench.

Sunday afternoon turns to the Oakford Film Festival featuring a selection of short films from amateur and professional film makers from 2pm, whilst the early evening takes us in the Reggae/ Ska/ Rockabilly/ Swing party vibe as we introduce the legend that is DJ Derek!!

Supporting brings The Raptures mix of ol Trojan Record gems to the table, played by ex members of The Specials & Bad Manners.

Bestival favourite DJ Greg's 78's will be spinning some ol school format vinyl Ska, Swing and Rockabilly, Greg has featured on Radio 1 regularly with Rob Da Bank and The Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Band play Jumping Jazz and Red Hot Rhythm and Blues Music expect red hot choruses, laughter, bad tap dancing, kazoo solos and authentic, prohibition style, serious drinking. Yes-Suh!
