A great fête awaits you

It’s the great British summer – and the Bleep Test Club is being very sensible in having a special celebration of music ‘indoors’.

For those who don’t know, it’s the club where you can get involved as well as enjoy some prime cuts of music from the new band scene.

And on Saturday, you can come along to the Bleep Test Fête.

Six great bands, lots of DJs and dancing, a barbecue and cake – and all starting from 4pm.

Here is the full line-up and times:

6pm – The Good Natured
The evening’s musical entertainment starts with one of the hottest acts around the area right now. One girl and an array of electronic bleeps ‘n’ beats.

Good reviews coming in from all over the place, including: “Dazzlingly original electronics with just a sprinkle of break beat over layered with this deliciously rich pop vocal.”

7pm – Lion Club
Being looked after by the über cool 1234 Records, the youngsters from Lion Club have already played on the same line-ups as HarMar Superstar and The Whip. Set to go an awful long way, a cliché it may be – but they are not to be missed.

8pm – Tripwires
Their new single Just So You Know is out now and, if their last release is anything to go by, it will be all over Radio 1 and XFM. Clever, edgy and euphoric.

To put it simply, they write great songs.

9pm – Fox Cubs
Just back from Glastonbury, and their first UK Tour, Fox Cubs are rapidly rising.

Steve Lamacq is all over them like a rash, their new single sounds huge. Like Suede, British Sea Power and the Killers all mixed up, but better.

10pm – Elle Milano
Elle Milano are quite frankly, great. If you’ve not heard their debut album Acres Of Dead Space Cadets, then go and have a listen now.

They were Steve Lamacq’s single of the week, and currently playlisted on XFM.

Quirky pop genius.

11pm – The Race
The first album from this evening’s headliners received rave reviews, as well as live sessions on BBC Radio 1, XFM and BBC 6 Music.

They have played with the likes of Supergrass and Babyshambles along with slots at the Reading Festival and other festival appearances round Europe.

Their new album is recorded, and this is their first live show in Reading for a long time.

DJs
Before, during, and after all of that there will be DJ sets from The Tufty Club, Hot Hot Bitches Yeah!, The Crippler and The West Reading Galaxy DJs – who have been on line-ups alongside The Rapture, Bloc Party and dan le sac.

It’s sure to be one hell of a party – and it’s all free.
