The Maccabees – dressed for success

February 16, 2007

Brighton-based outfit The Maccabees have booked The Fez Club on Sunday, February 18 as part of their mammoth countrywide tour.

The Maccabees have been gathering a loyal fan base through MTV tours and great supports slots, but this tour will see the band on their biggest headline tour to date.

The London date has already sold out in advance and, with big fans in the form of MTV2, Jo Whiley and Zane Lowe, the band are set for stardom in 2007.

Having spent 2006 honing their craft and releasing a clutch of must-have singles (Latchmere, X-Ray and First Love); The Maccabees are arrestingly assured and compelling as any young band around today.

With top 40 successes already under their belts, the band will be expecting big things of forthcoming single, About Your Dress. The track excitedly champions the great British tradition of groups like Blur and The Kinks in sound and ambition.

Amusing lyrics recall the burning of a new girlfriend’s dress with a cigarette on a first date; the song delivering a perfect everyman tale of awkward young love.

The single is released on February 26 and is sure to dent the higher echelons of the charts.
