Win a sweet treat!
February 05, 2007
The newly-refurbished entertainment complex surrounding Wembley Stadium means that, these days, world-class entertainment is a mere 40-minute drive from the heart of Reading.
To prove it, Sounds has teamed up with two of our friends in the world of leisure and entertainment to provide one lucky reader with a brilliant night out at Wembley in April.
A meal at the stunning Alisan restaurant in the shadow of the awesome new Wembley Stadium will need to be followed by something sweet – and what better than a serving of Sugababes?
The girls finish their UK Arena tour at Wembley Arena on Friday, April 13, and we have two tickets for the show – as well as dinner at Alisan – to give away in probably our greatest ever competition.
Sugababes are the most successful female act of the 21st century, selling two million singles and five million albums to date, and boasting four number ones and more top 10 singles than the Spice Girls, All Saints, Destiny’s Child or Bananarama.
Alisan is pretty impressive too. The Chinese restaurant within the first phase of a £1.3billion Wembley redevelopment project owes its stunning interior to Reading-based Quadrant Design.
In fact, while Wembley Stadium has come in for criticism over the continued delay in relaunching the new national stadium, Quadrant have secured a glorious triumph in the shadow of the infamous arch.
Quadrant managing director Paul Hindmarsh, who has also overseen Berkshire refurbishment projects including Marco Pierre White’s Highwayman Pub in Checkendon and Newbury gastro-pub The Document House, is delighted with his latest venture for the Aroma Group of restaurants.
Hindmarsh cites Muse at Wembley Stadium in June as his must-see of the year. He said: “It is a prestigious location and one that the Berkshire public can take full advantage of.
“World-class entertainment is now right on our doorstep and I, for one, intend to be there as often as I can this year,” said Hindmarsh.
Competition
You could enjoy an early taste of Wembley glory too, simply by telling us the answer to the following question:
What was the name of Sugababes’ first number one hit, in May 2002?
Send you answer on a postcard, or the back of a sealed envelope, to:
