Cool jazz from Andy Sheppard

ONE of the most versatile and assured saxophonists in the British jazz scene will be appearing with his acoustic trio at South Hill Park for one night only.
Andy Sheppard has established an impressive international reputation and in his time has won the British Jazz Awards in 1988 and 1989, the Best Album in 1989 and the Best Big Band awards in 1990.
The trio will be performing at South Hill Park as part of Horizons, a month of performances from ground breaking artists in jazz and contemporary music.
The trio will be playing on Thursday, May 10, in the Wilde Theatre at 8pm.
Other events in the Horizons cycle include Dave Thomas on Sunday, May 20, Abdullah Ibrahim on Sunday, May 27, and the gogmagogs on Thursday, May 31.
M Tickets cost £12.50 for each concert or you can book two for £20 or three for £30.
