Q&A with Fears
July 02, 2012
FEARS are gearing up for their show at The Boileroom in Guildford on Thursday, July 5 supporting The TenFiveSixty.
The alternative act features members from the north of England, London and Iceland but they currently reside in Surrey to focus on recording their upcoming EP.
Lead vocalist Jonny and guitarist Ric say a few words for us.
Your band name is Fears. What is each member's biggest fear?
Jonny: To be honest neither of us really have any fears as such, well none that we know of.
Ric: I'm sure we'll all eventually have some form of a fear after we get a few tours under our belt.
Describe your style of music, using only words beginning with F.
Ric: Feral, Feeling, Feedback, Flow.
What are Fears currently up to?
Ric: We are currently recording our debut EP which is due to be released towards the end of August and alongside that we have been playing a lot of shows around London and Surrey. Our next show in the area will be at The Boileroom, Guildford, on 5th July.
What can we expect from your Boileroom show?
Jonny: Every show we do we try to step it up another level so there's always that element of energy and excitement. Thankfully we've played the Boileroom previously so we are all confident with the sound of the room and stage. The venue always has a great crowd too.
Finally, if forced to have celebrity wives, which lucky ladies would be chosen?
Jonny: I think I'd have to go with someone like Brigitte Bardot. I'm really into girls from the 50s and 60s.
Ric: I'd have to say Mila Kunis. That girl has it all and unlike Jonny's choice, she's still in her 20s, not her 70s, plus she also dated Macaulay Culkin so I think I'd be in with a good chance.
