Review: West Forest Sinfonia, St Paul's Church

The programme for this Sunday afternoon concert opened with a performance of Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia On A Theme of Thomas Tallis which brought out the poetic mystery of this medieval meditation.

The orchestra, under their conductor Philip Ellis performed the solemn rises and falls in this strange piece as an unfolding tapestry of music which swept along to its meditative conclusion.
