Tom cast away without a country

13/12/2001

TOM HANKS will be spending much of his time in an airport lounge while filming his next project, Terminal, which he is also co-writing.

The Oscar-winning actor will play a Balkan immigrant in the US who is forced to make the airport lounge his home when the borders of his war-torn country become blurred, voiding his passport and leaving him stateless.

He then meets and falls in love with a Latina flight attendant who helps him plan a bold escape.

The film marks yet another collaboration between Hanks and STEVEN SPIELBERG's DreamWorks studio, for whom he made Saving Private Ryan, Cast Away and the upcoming The Road to Perdition, which is directed by SAM MENDES.
