Tonight's TV Choice: Gogglebox

Gogglebox

Channel 4

10pm

The thought of watching people watching telly on the telly is not an appealing one at first.

Then, if you think about it a bit more, watching telly does get people really animated.

Imagine what you'd get if you had cameras in the living rooms of Manchester United fans (you know, in homes in Devon and Surrey) at the point of the sending off in the game on Tuesday.

You'd have seen excessive rage, things getting chucked about and some not very pleasant remarks about the Turkish ref.

In non-United supporting homes you'd see big grins.

But I digress.

Gogglebox is a reality show that films people on their sofas, watching the TV.

Narrated in the soft northern tones of Caroline Aherne, we see how important the TV is in some houses as the people involve gasp, grumble, swear, laugh, are very rude about the people involved and then have a row.

It sounds quite fun, and provided the conversation isn't about how wonderful TOWIE is and what a benefit to society it is, then it should be good.
