Tonight's TV Choice: Great Houses with Julian Fellowes

Great Houses with Julian Fellowes

ITV1

9PM

This is a programme created by the man who made Downton Abbey.

However, unlike Downton Abbey, this programme promises to be both interesting and entertaining.

Julian Fellowes travels around the country going to real stately homes and examining the weird and wonderful characters who lived in such places.

And of course there are loads.

He traces the stories, gripped by a frenzied enthusiasm for history.

He visits the vast Burghley House in Lincolnshire, which has been owned for 500 years by descendents of William Cecil, chief adviser to Elizabeth 1.

It should be good for people who like their history.

What I wonder is if anyone still lives in these houses? And if so, how much is their electricty bill, how fast is the broadband and do they have to take the bins out?
