Art lectures to be held at Wokingham Town Hall

A series of art lectures will be put on at Wokingham Town Hall.
Wokingham Town Council’s arts and culture committee gave the go-ahead for a number of talks in the town hall, in Market Place, when it met last Wednesday.
Councillor Gwynneth Hewetson, committee chairwoman, said: “I have been approached by a lady who wanted to know whether she could give a lecture in the main hall at the town council.
“I was then approached by a man who wanted to offer his lecture, and another man came forward who gives a talk about jazz through the ages.
“I just wondered whether there something we could do because we want to promote the town hall more and it is something we haven’t done before.”
The committee unanimously approved the plans and it was suggested to hold an art lecture every couple of months on a trial basis.
